Name Strings

Postby tomgr » Thu Jul 19, 2012 12:39 pm

Regarding the strings returned providing the names of media, effects and such, is it desired to have the complete path name if the particular element is a file in a file system?

For example, a movie file might be c:\media\nature\wizbangligthing.mpg. Should a MSEX ElIn message provide the name as the entire path or just "wizbanglightning.mpg"?

Thanks.

Hi Tom,

This is very much to your implementation I would say. I would say that the specific path on disc where your media resides is not very interesting to the consumer, unless each media is possibly in a different location and the path is important (say if you had c:\green\logo.mpg, c:\red\logo.mpg, c:\blue\logo.mpg). You'll have to make a choice!
