Hi folks,

Now that we have a new bulletin board, I'm posting this to remind everybody of my limited CITP test suite at http://www.lewlight.com.

Hi,

I have any question about the CITP TestSuite because a find no help and the software have no tooltips.

1.)
What kind of feature/ContentTypes supported it and in which version?
Have anyone a complete list of all supportet feature?
e.g.
MSEX->GVSr V1.0 YES
MSEX->StFr V1.0 YES
MSEX->StFr V1.0 RGB8 format YES
MSEX->StFr V1.0 JPEG format YES
MSEX->StFr V1.2 NO
MSEX->StFr V1.2 PNG format NO
...

2.)
What do the version number can select on start of TestSuite->MediaServer or TestSuite->Browser.
I can't found difference when I set this to 1.0 or 1.1 or 1.2.
I have sniff the network with the software wireshark, but I can't find different.
It set the CITP- Version number or the CITP->MSEX Version number?

3.)
The CITP->MSEX Protocol v1.0 say send RGB8 data in BGR format.
But your Mediaserver and your Browser don't do that. Why?

4.)
What the right way when the MediaServer will go down.
If I close the MediaServer with your connected Browser and view a Output1 then crash the browser.

5.)
Can the TestSuite->Browser draw the thumbnails if a MediaServer support this feature?

6.)
Do the TestSuite->Browser support the CITP MSEX Protocol V1.2? for StFr packages especially png format.

Otherwise it is a cool TestSuite for the first contact with citp protocol.
Thanks for the programmer.

Hi,

I'll try to answer them as I wrote the software.. :-)

1 - There is no good list of messages supported - sorry! I'll see if I can improve that.

2 - The version number you set is that in MSEX / SInf, nothing more.

3 - You might have found a bug there.

4 - Here as well, there is no particular requirements for how to go down apart from closing the sockets nicely with close(), but that's ordinary netiquette.

5 - The browser does not support thumbnails. It might in the future.

6 - I had to go into the code to check and it does. However I don't think I've released it yet. I'm going to look into releasing a new version, maybe even with the source code. It might even contain fixes for 3 and 4.

Cheers,

Hi,
thank you for fast reply.

but I have an other questions

1 -
okay no problem

2 -
Sorry I have check this with wireshark, the server say ever 1.0.
I have set the Server and the Browser to 1.1, 1.2 and 2.1 (for tests) always was the version in MSEX SInf 1.0. But I see the Browser send never MSEX->CInf packages its that the problem? The first command from Browser is the MSEX->GVSr. Then the Server say PINF->PNam and then MSEX->SInf(1.0)

3 -
Sorry ;)

4 -
okay, thanks for Info

5 -
please, it is an nice feature

6 -
Please give the software an version number for better different the versions.
When you think version is published ( without 5. ;) ) ?

kinds regards

Hi,

I have an other question.

In list in forum on
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2
I see Capture Polar can thumbnails. How can I configure the Capture Polar for call thumbnails from MediaServer? I can't found information about this in the short Capture Polar manual.

Or it's this a better question for Capture forum?

Hi jaekel,

Thumbnails were actually removed from Capture a couple of versions ago! Capture only does streaming now. I'll update the compatibility list right away..

I'm sorry, you would have to go back to 2.4 which isn't in the archive!
